Narrated Lectures in Emergency Ultrasound
http://www.emergencyultrasoundteaching.com/narrated_lectures.html
Maintained by Division of Emergency Medicine, Medical University
of South Carolina (MUSC), this website have a series of well recorded
lectures, with presentation slides and ultrasound video, covering
different aspects of diagnostic ultrasound. The information are
well presented and ideal for family physicians to appreciate advances
of diagnostic ultrasound. Topics covered include ultrasound physics,
ocular ultrasound, obstetrics and ectopic pregnancy, biliary, renal,
appendix, soft tissue and foreign body ultrasound.
Emergency Bedside Ultrasound Training Series
http://learn-us.vanderbiltem.com/
The Emergency Bedside Ultrasound Training Series is maintained
by the Department of Emergency Medicine at Vanderbilt University.
Ultrasound videos are displayed together side by side with the positioning
and manoeuvres of the probe. Videos of various topics are hosted
including renal, gall bladder, cardiac, aorta, musculoskeletal ultrasound,
deep vein thrombosis, ocular ultrasound and common ultrasound artifacts
etc. The demonstration sessions are well narrated with clear instructions
on probe manipulation.
Introduction to Emergency Ultrasound
http://sonoguide.com/introduction.html
This website is developed by a group of emergency physicians
practising bedside emergency ultrasound, with the aim to demonstrate
the beauty of diagnostic ultrasound as a useful tool in emergency
medicine. The project initially targeted towards education at undergraduate
level, but has then grown to serve all levels of medical training
and continuing medical education. At the website, topics are arranged
into different sections including abdomen, critical care, small
parts and procedural, covering ultrasound physics, aortic aneurysm,
cardiac ultrasound and gall bladder ultrasound. Sections on renal,
early pregnancy, DVT, soft tissue and musculoskeletal ultrasound
are also included. Video clips and illustrations are abundant under
each segment of the website.
Ultrasound in Obstetrics & Gynaecology: A Practical Approach
http://www.evms.edu/education/centers_institutes_departments/obstetrics_gynecology/ultrasound_ebook/
This is an open access E-Book that gives a comprehensive review
of ultrasound in obstetrics & gynaecology. The E-Book, filled with
descriptive figures, tables and video clips, contains detailed information
on the practical aspect of the ultrasound examination in obstetrics
and gynaecology with technical details such as how to hold and orientate
the transducer, operate the ultrasound equipment and diagnose complex
obstetric and gynaecologic abnormalities. Tips from the authors
on the use of ultrasound in their daily practice are included. This
open access E-Book, in the form of a pdf file with embedded video,
can be downloaded free of charge. Apart from ultrasound physics
and ultrasound of the three trimesters, there are chapters on evaluation
of twin gestations, placental abnormalities, amniotic fluid assessments,
standardised approach in ultrasound of female pelvis and how to
write ultrasound reports.
Ultrasound Learning Module
http://www.susme.org/learning-modules/learningmodules/
This is a library of videos presented by the Society of Ultrasound
in Medical Education and University of South Carolina School of
Medicine. Basic techniques of ultrasound examinations of different
regions are explained in detail, starting with ultrasound physics,
choice of transducers, and anatomy of different organs. Modules
are arranged in ultrasound physics, abdomen (liver, biliary, spleen,
aorta, renal and urinary bladder), pelvis, cardiac and neck. The
content is easy to understand and ideal for beginners in diagnostic
ultrasound. The Ultrasound Institute of University of South Carolina
School of Medicine has also put up a library of ultrasound training
videos on YouTube (https://www.youtube.com/user/iusc1/videos) demonstrating
how to perform ultrasound on different parts of the body.
Introduction to Radiology: Online Interactive Tutorial
https://www.med-ed.virginia.edu/Courses/rad/
This online tutorial is maintained by Department of Radiology
and Medical Imaging of the University of Virginia. This is a tutorial
on different areas of radiology, including CT, MRI, PET/CT, and
diagnostic ultrasound. Sections relating to diagnostic ultrasound
are thyroid, testicular and emergency ultrasound. The tutorial allows
one to get familiar with the know-how in performing ultrasound on
the respective organs. References are made to embryology, anatomy,
physiology and top ten pathology of the organ involved.
