The World Family Doctor Day was first declared by the World Organization of Family Doctors (WONCA) in 2010 to give recognition to the role and contribution of family doctors in healthcare systems around the world. The theme this year is "Family Doctors – caring for you for the whole of your life". The Department of Health (DH) and the Hong Kong College of Family Physicians (HKCFP) jointly organised the World Family Doctor Day Symposium 2019 on 11 May 2019 (Saturday) to celebrate the World Family Doctor Day and discuss the role of family doctors in providing life-long care and primary care.
We were honoured to have Dr Donald LI, President of World Organization of Family Doctors (WONCA), Dr Wanmie LEUNG, Deputy Head of Primary Healthcare Office, Food and Health Bureau and Professor Martin WONG, Convenor of Advisory Group on Hong Kong Reference Framework for Care of Diabetes and Hypertension in Primary Care Settings be our distinguished speakers.
